Early Career Scholars Working Committee hopes to work toward increasing the visibility of ICEM with scholars and teachers just beginning their career as well as graduate students nearing the completion of their degrees. Our goal is to build a collaborative, dedicated, professional community for early career members at ICEM to help them complement their strengths, envision forward-looking research agenda, and build professional relationships with leaders in the field.
To fulfill the goal, our committee tentatively designs a series of initiatives intended to provide early career members with mentoring opportunities at the convention and also for their routine work. We plan to offer early career workshop and honor the excellent work conducted by our ICEM early career members. During the workshop, we will also invite our field leaders and pioneers to share their insights and suggestions for these early career members. In addition to these convention activities, we will provide opportunities for early career members to highlight their research, project, or innovative teaching practices in our Newsletter, webinar, and other platforms. We hope that, with our effort, we can help early career members smooth their career transition and actively engaged in the field.
